Kaleidoscope Dance Company is UCOs touring dance company who seeks to entertain and educate audiences with varied repertoire of modern dance, ballet, jazz. Kaleidoscope Team dancers attend extra technique classes, learn additional choreography, perform throughout their community, explore their artistry with original compositions, and travel to exchange dance and friendship with dancers and teachers in other dance communities. Kaleidoscope Team is an opportunity for dancers to deepen their dance training and push their creativity. They are supported by their teachers and team as they grow into strong dancers, and uniquely amazing young adults. Monarch Kaleidoscope Team is a group of beautiful, curious, creative young dancers who are bound in their goal to better themselves, raise each other to greatness, bring joy to their community, and explore artistry through dance. Our students work in collaboration with each other and with their teacher to present a dance that is age-appropriate and creative, highlighting what they have explored and learned in class. There are no expensive costumes to purchase as students are invited to express their unique personalities on stage. (That’s you!) Afternoon of Dance is their time to shine! The Afternoon of Dance is a celebration of community, creativity, and collaboration that showcases our teaching methodology, brain-compatible dance education. The show provides our students with the opportunity to perform on stage in front of friends and family. Join Kaleidoscope Dance Company, with Mosaic Dance Company, for the Gift of Dance, a virtual concert of original modern dance works choreographed by youth. Our melodies, beats, and more ambient sounds evoke a particular feeling or atmosphere explored in our dances. Sometimes musical, sometimes silent, but always emotive: Musical accompaniment comes from many genres classical, contemporary, traditional, pop, musical theatre, alternative, contemporary, electronic, folk, world music, or sometimes silence. Some pieces are fun and uplifting, some are abstract, and some tell a narrative story. This video follows the 37 dancers of Kaleidoscope Dance Company as they work with three choreographers over five weeks to create pieces for the annual Kaleid. Founded in 2005, KDC is a highly regarded dance studio in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area. Our pieces communicate profound ideas exploring challenging themes such as identity, connection and disconnection, global issues, peace, and the human experience. Our audiences are engaged and inspired as they witness young people perform their own choreography, as well as dances by local and national dance artists.
